Amaru Treasury Withdrawal 2026
Amaru is an open-source project building a new, **fully interoperable block-producing node** that improves the overall accessibility and robustness of the Cardano network without compromising its safety and security. Amaru provides another perspective and solution for stake pool operators and developers alike, prioritizing **low hardware requirements** and a seamless user experience. The project is implemented primarily in Rust and aims to attract new contributors to the ecosystem's core maintenance. We will recap what we have accomplished so far, thanks to this first allocation, and break down the objectives, scope, and timelines for 2026.

What this asks for, and from whom
10,140,000 ADA for the Amaru Treasury Withdrawal 2026, continuing development of the Amaru node implementation.
What would have to be true for this to be a good use of treasury funds
Same principle as Dingo, at larger scale. Amaru is a serious effort at an alternative Cardano node, and I voted yes on its earlier 1,500,000 ADA withdrawal at epoch 567 as well. Consistent support for the same team as it scaled.
What specifically concerns me
The step from 1.5 million to 10.1 million is significant and it is the kind of scaling I usually push back on. The difference here is that this is a repeat proposer with visible delivery between the two asks, and node implementation work has a clear, checkable milestone: does it validate the chain.
What I am asking of the proposer if this passes
It was enacted. Publish conformance results against the reference node. Client diversity is only real when the alternative client can be trusted to produce blocks on mainnet, so show that milestone plainly when it lands.
