What this asks for, and from whom

What would have to be true for this to be a good use of treasury funds
The team has to be able to deliver protocol-level work, and the ask has to be proportionate. Tweag has been in Cardano's core engineering for years. Peras and finality improvements are exactly the kind of foundational work that will never be funded by private capital, because there is no product to sell at the end of it. That is precisely what a treasury is for.
What specifically concerns me
I voted NO on the 39,787,316 ADA version of this at epoch 631. Not because the work was wrong, but because nearly 40 million ADA across a three-year horizon was too much scope committed too far out on a treasury this size. This version cut the ask by more than half. That is a team that listened rather than argued, and I reward that. Let's be real about it: the second ask being smaller is the single most persuasive thing a proposer can do.
What I am asking of the proposer if this passes
It was enacted. Ship Peras to mainnet and publish finality metrics against the promise. Faster finality is measurable, so measure it publicly. Hold the reduced scope and the next renewal is easy.
