Rename the Chang 2 Hard Fork to the Plomin Hard Fork
The Intersect Hard Fork Working Group proposes to name the next Cardano hard fork the “Plomin Hard Fork” in memory of Cardano community contributor Matthew Plomin.
Reasoning
Written after the vote was cast
What this asks for, and from whom
An Info Action renaming the Chang 2 hard fork to the Plomin hard fork, honoring Matthew Plomin.
What would have to be true for this to be a good use of treasury funds
No funds involved. This is the ecosystem choosing to recognize someone who contributed to it.
What specifically concerns me
Nothing, and I want to explain why I bothered voting at all on something with no money attached. Governance does not have to be adversarial every single time. A community that only ever votes on budgets and never on recognizing its own people is a community with no culture worth defending, and culture is part of what keeps builders here through bear markets.
What I am asking of the proposer if this passes
It was dropped as an Info Action, though the name carried in practice anyway, which tells you something about how much of this ecosystem runs on convention rather than on chain. Nothing further asked of anyone here.
